Allan Kennedy is president of Selkirk Associates, Inc., a microcomputer software company in Boston. Prior to holding this position he was a consultant for twelve years with McKinsey and Company. Terrence Deal is a professor at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University, where he specializes in the study of organization cultures. He has recently taught at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. Allan A. Kennedy is a Boston- and London-based management consultant and writer. He is co-author with Terrence Deal of Corporate Cultures and The New Corporate Cultures. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

Very useful material. Lacks explanation of how these cultures come into being. As an economist, it is very easy for me to form hypotheses. The problem is finding examples of failed cultures, as those companies are gone.

This should be considered a classic in business literature. I found it very useful designing workshops to help corporate leaders breathe life into stodgy mission statements. The use of mission to motivate employees is rarely achieved, and this book helps you understand why.

a must have for step 2 CK

I used the first edition of this book for step 2 CK. It was my only and main study tool while i prepared for CK. I went through it 3 times before my test. went thru the high yield questions. I experienced a 20 point increase from my scores in step 1 and 2.
I highly recommend this. with the added high yield images,this book is a MUST HAVE!.

This book is concise and to the point. It offers more details than master the board or first aid. This should be the primary source for step 2 and 3. This book has what it takes to do well on this exam!

Section I contains comparative studies focusing on the commonalities and differences of the experiences of BRICS. Section II includes six country studies providing a more detailed analysis of the long-run experiences of each of the countries. Section III consists of a set of seven thematic studies focusing on specific topics such as global value chains, the role of transnational corporations in the food chain, the role of foreign versus domestic investment, the role of domestic versus foreign demand in economic growth the diffusion of environmental energy technology and the similarities, and the differences in industrial policies pursued in the five countries. The book contains a summary chapter that provides an integrated perspective of the various contributions from the point of view of poverty reduction and development. Wim Naude holds the Chair in Business and Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. He is also Dean of the Maastricht School of Management and a Research Fellow at IZA, the Institute for the Study of Labour, in Bonn, Germany. A graduate of the University of Warwick, he was previously Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT in Maastricht, Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER in Helsinki, Professor and Director of Research at North-West University in South Africa and Research Officer at the Centre for the Study of African Economies, University of Oxford.


Adam Szirmai is Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT and Professor of Development Economics at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance of Maastricht University. His research focuses on structural change, innovation and long-term economic development in developing countries. Jointly with Wim Naude and Micheline Goedhuys he is editor Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Economic Development published by Oxford University Press in 2011 and with Wim Naude and Ludovico Alcorta editor of Pathways to Industrialization in the 21st Century published by Oxford University Press in 2013. A second edition of his textbook Socio-Economic Development is to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2015.

Nobuya Haraguchi is Industrial Research Officer at the Research, Statistics and Industrial Policy branch of UNIDO in Vienna. He led a research team for the production of UNIDO Industrial Development Report 2013, Sustaining Employment Growth: The Role of Manufacturing and Structural Change. He has published widely on structural change, patterns of manufacturing and industrial policy and practice. Before joining UNIDO, he taught macroeconomics at St. John's University in the United States. He holds a PhD from the University of London.

Full of great information, not the best for beginners

The author assumes a pretty high level of commitment to stained glass. I saw a review here where a woman said reading this rather overwhelmed her, and I can see why. Tons of equipment, a dedicated workshop laid out for maximum efficiency... maybe you were just wanting to try out a new hobby! Still, it is a great resource for information and projects, even if you just want to try out this hobby. If you are more committed, go for it.

If you are a beginner, you must look at Basic Stained Glass Making... it takes a "sure you can!" approach, and has tons of pictures to illustrate the step-by-step creation of the projects. Have fun!

Vicki really breaks it down for you. I am a stained glass hobbyist just starting out and this has REALLY helped my improve my skills. I like having things written out for review, otherwise I tend to forget them. It has been an invaluable resource to honing this craft.

She had me saving glass in no time, improving my cutting ability and recommending the best tools for the job.

Very helpful book!

I have done stained glass work periodically over the last 30+ years, usually in a class. I'm excited to start doing it on my own again at home and when I saw an episode of Vicki Payne's show on PBS I thought having her book would be a great help, and I was right! The photos are good and clear, the descriptions are easy to understand, and even though I've taken many classes throughout the years she has tips I've never heard before. The book is very well organized and is laid out in a way that is visually interesting and easy to follow. Very glad I bought it!

Fans of the first book and the original source material (a popular online presence) will eat this up. Readers of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and those still obsessed with all things Star Wars will enjoy this silly romp through space.

Then Crostini's Cosmic Carnival and WonderCircus comes to Arahas. Animal-loving Cosmoe hates circuses, but his twofriends talk him in to attending. After a humungous Skorlax attacks the circustent and Cosmoe shows rare monster-taming talents, Crostini invites the trio tojoin the circus and sell their wares at each stop…Cosmoe can join the show too.Of course, that doesn't last for one performance (hey, the story has to movealong if there are gonna be enough explosions). Crostini's working on an evilarmy for Evil Queen Dagger (the princess's mom). Can Cosmoe and his friendsstop this nefarious plot?
